You’re sitting on the sofa watching a thriller.  You can tell something awful is about to happen by the music score. You’re tense and on the edge of your seat. The anticipation has you gripping the cushions. Eyes wide open, you wait. Then it happens and you jump, scream or close your eyes.

Music brought you to that threshold.

Awards are given for best music score. You have other awards for best male vocalist, female vocalist and group. Music is in our every day life. When you and your love have a quarrel, you’re likely to play that favorite song or “our” song.

When happy, our selection is usually upbeat. If we are sad, a slower, more soulful tune is our choice.

My favorite genre is gospel. I’ve played in three different groups, that engaged in different styles. Currently, I’m playing bass for Calvary Tabernacle in Longview, TX. We do mostly choir music now, but my love embraces all Christian/Gospel music.

In prayer time, there are songs that are conducive to worship. I also have a list of songs I enjoy that usher me into that realm of praise.Music definitely enhances the moods we are in. When depressed, uplifting music can help pull you out of that low place.

Below are links to some of my favorite artists. Please consider going to Amazon.com and adding some of these to your own collection.

Until next week, B# and God bless!

Hi Cheryl,
Your first paragraph hooked me! I don't do any of those things - I just have to walk out of the room!

Music does indeed touch your soul, and has a huge effect on your mood and wellbeing.
Great article.

I tune into the music in a movie - oftentimes more than the story line itself...

Thanks for your perspectives and for sharing some of your favorites.
