Every night I look forward to curling up in bed with my pups and sleeping. There is a feeling of comfort with them in the bed with me. However, what about those that have trouble sleeping? Some have documented certain disorders that cause sleeplessness and today's topic is music and sleeping. There are many that have researched how music aids sleep. In some tests subjects were exposed to soft music for an extended period of three weeks or more. It was documented that music does help people relax so they can fall asleep as well as higher quality sleeping. Have you ever watched an intense movie or gone to a show and when you fell asleep, you were dreaming about the movie or show? That has happened to me, too. These studies learned that if you listen to music before and during sleep, your quality of sleep is likely to improve. Since music is an intervention with great potential to help and very little potential to harm, people shouldn’t have any problems using music as a sleep aid. The genres used in the studies were different but had similar characteristics. The BPM (beats per minute) were between 60 and 80. The rhythm was regular and steady. They were low pitched with tranquil melodies. Plus, the selection was one enjoyed by the participant. I am going to provide a list of a few selections you might like to order from Amazon.com. These range from ocean waves to deep, resonating chimes. You can check the out by clicking the pics or the linked texts below them. Until next week, B# and God Bless!

Thank you ladies. Yes, it's pretty interesting. Music is not just for enjoyment, although I certainly do enjoy playing the bass. Again, thank you for your comments!

Musician's Helper is a totally free site, but, if you like my work and want to leave a tip, I'll surely put it to good use on things like food, clothes, fuel for my auto, soap to shower with, etc. I think those qualify for seriously good use. ☺
