This week I want to talk more about the musical instruments themselves. For people that are really into music, a good deal gets their attention. That’s what I am going to focus on today. Let’s talk bass... There are brands like Fender, Schecter, Gibson and Peavy. Then you need accessories, like amps, straps, cables and pedals (for the more advanced). For today, we are going to focus on the bass guitar and the many different types available. There are four, five and six string basses. You can pick a fretless bass and there are left handed basses. I’ve picked a couple of my favorites to share with you.
Here's a short story I want to share with you even though the focus of this blog is the product. As I stated in a previous post, my parents were avid supporters of learning music. Many times I heard them say, music makes your mind sharp. So naturally, I focused on learning. At this moment, I can’t think of a single time my wish list for an instrument was not filled. However, time passes and people do grow up. My very first solo purchase of an instrument was a Fender Bass, a 5-string. Let me tell you that it felt so awesome playing it. Up to that time, all I had played was a four string. Since it was my first 5-string, there should have been some practice time to get the feel of that fifth string before playing a concert that night. All I can say is, thank God I knew how to play the other four strings! Being a church crowd, they were very forgiving. The concert turned out okay, but from that point forward, this lady learned a lesson. Know your instrument before you ever play in front of anyone! That is what I'm determined to share with you, knowledge.

Thanks for the tip!Virtual buskers rock! That’s what your tip tells me. ☺
Musician's Helper is a totally free site, but, if you like my work and want to leave a tip, I'll surely put it to good use on things like food, clothes, fuel for my auto, soap to shower with, etc. I think those qualify for seriously good use. ☺
