The effects of music can be a surprise to many and I’ve learned there are several areas in our lives where music can assist us in healing and enhancing our overall health. By the way, if you know of someone that could use some help with feeling better, maybe giving them an Amazon gift card is the solution. They can use it to buy whatever they wish on amazon.com, and if they read this, their choice could easily become music related. Recently, I read an article that explains how music of multiple genres can help in healing of the body. Here is a clip from that article. “Music is an art, entertainment, pleasure, and ... medicine for the soul and body. Music is one of the few activities that involves using the whole brain. It is intrinsic to all cultures and has surprising benefits not only for learning language, improving memory and focusing attention, but also for physical coordination and development.” via eMedExpert.com. A potential cure for what ails youDid you know that in clinical studies, music has shown to be an effective therapy for a variety of illnesses? Some of us probably already knew that, and maybe without realizing it. With a bit of research I came up with an interesting list to share with you showing specifics in how music works to make us well.
Music comes in all your favorite flavorsYou see? Everyone really can benefit from learning to play a musical instrument, not only for themselves, but for others too. It really is a natural medicine for the body. Who would have thought that strumming a guitar or playing a tune on the piano could be conducive to good health? Maybe learning to read notes is not your thing. If you have rhythm, there’s a huge array of percussion instruments you can choose to play. The bongos might be just right for you. Pictured are Latin Percussion 601 City Series Bongos. Not too expensive, they are perfect for the person with rhythm. Pictured right is the Rhythm Tech 2040 Live Shaker. Available at zZounds, this is something almost any amateur can play instantly. Hopefully, today has not been information overload. As you may have guessed, music is a topic that I not only enjoy, but I also live. Thank you so much for reading today’s post and please be sure to share with a friend. Until next week...B# and God Bless! Cheryl Johnson - The Musician's Helper
